I remember in my first degree graduation
Not even #500 naira was in my account
It was like I was working but nothing to show for it and I work really hard
It was an emotional phase in my life
I reflected on the time , sacrifices and energy I spent to built my career
And kept contemplating if I made the wrong decisions not to further for my second degree
That same graduation my course mates had their first and second degree
I saw the disappointment and looks from some of my lecturers who were expecting me to come back to continue my degree
I don’t know if that was the reason they didn’t award me
But in the moment of reflection
A Christian brand I was managing who was paying me less in management was about to send money into my account
Immediately I summoned courage and told them if they can increase the fee
Then I won’t be managing their brand
They called their other colleague who is now in abroad to plead with me to accept the money
I told them I have increase my rate cards , I gave them reasons to understand why they should be considerate but as they refuse I didn’t get the Money
But few months down the line I got a better gigs and then I realize me not furthering at that time wasn’t a stupid decision it was a wise decision
I built my practical skills because in degree you only learn theory and not practical
I still intend and working on Furthering my second degree but at the right time
Education has no limit to age
You can further anytime
You need to have skills and experience to survive in this world
Now I have trained thousands of students both individual and organizations
Both home and virtual
With certificate and recommendations
I hope my story will inspire someone that there is more to life than having a degree either it’s your first degree or second degree
Focus on growth and it can only be achieve when you discover your potentials and work towards it
