I love to learn a lot so update on the TIN

Yes, items with existing TINs are still useful in Nigeria, but the system is being harmonized so that your NIN (National ID Number) is your TIN for individuals, and your CAC number is the TIN for businesses; the goal is integration, not replacement, so existing TINs work, but new ones link to your NIN/CAC, streamlining tax IDs for easier banking and transactions from 2026 under the new Tax Administration Act.

Key Points on TIN & NIN Integration in Nigeria:

NIN as Individual TIN: For individuals, your NIN serves as your official Tax Identification Number (TIN).

CAC as Business TIN: For registered businesses, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration number acts as the TIN.

No Separate Application Needed: You generally don't need to apply for a separate TIN; the system links your existing NIN/CAC automatically for tax purposes.

Effective Date: This integration is part of the Nigeria Tax Administration Act (NTAA) 2025, with full implementation for banking and financial services starting January 1, 2026.

Existing TINs Remain Valid: If you already have a TIN, it's still valid, but new registrations will use the NIN/CAC system.

Purpose: This reform aims to simplify tax compliance, reduce duplication, and ensure all taxable individuals and entities are identified.

In Summary:

Your existing TINs are fine, but don't worry about getting a new one if you have your NIN (as an individual) or CAC number (as a company); these are your tax IDs now for seamless transactions with banks and government.
